Use this guide as a starting point for BJJ gis and belts. Gi fit depends on height, weight, build, shrinkage preference, and whether you like a competition-snug or roomier training fit.

Fit and shrink notes
Cold wash and hang dry helps limit shrinkage. Machine drying can shrink cotton gis more aggressively. If your height and weight point to different sizes, the larger size is usually safer for regular training.
Belts
Choose a belt size that matches your gi size when possible. If you prefer a longer knot or have a larger waist, size up.
